Summer break is upon us and now seems as good a time as any to start planning your next outdoor adventure with the family. Some fresh air and time away from your screens could be just what the family needs to get some bonding time in. Here's a simple check list to follow to make this trip as easy as possible.


Seasoned Camper Checklist:

  • Tent, tarp, sleeping bags
  • Hammer and extra stakes
  • air mattress, sleeping pad or cot 
  • Camping Chairs
  • Flashlights, lanterns and/or headlamps
  • Waterproof matches, pots, pans, and utensils
  • First Aid Kit and bug repellent 
  • Plenty of water for drinking, cooking and cleaning. We like to recycle jugs and fill them with tap water for cleaning + washing hands on site.
  • Towels and wipes
  • Duct tape
  • Trash bags and napkins
  • Cooler filled with food, snacks, and drinks. Here are two yummy meal ideas for a night under the stars: chicken and veggies + pineapple upside down cake.
  • Biodegradable dish soap and hand soap 
  • Sunscreen and chapstick with SPF
  • A back pack to carry your water, snacks,and things on your hike
  • A hat and sunglasses for the sun
  • Playing cards,games or some kind of instrument for some fun around the fire
  • An easy-up if you're going to be in an area that doesn't have much shade
